Introducing Beginner Saxophone Lessons
Are you a fan of jazz and reggae music? Are you interested in learning to play an instrument to fully enjoy these music? Or are you just one of those who want to be able to play beautiful music effortlessly? If the answer is yes to these questions, there’s only one instrument that fits: saxophones.
Saxophones were invented centuries ago, and since then, have become more and more popular. There are no apparent reason why you shouldn’t learn it and more than enough reasons why you should. The way saxophones bring a touch of the classical to most songs, make it a favorite in most orchestras and bands. If you want to learn the sax, then your dedication to it should be wholehearted. There will be no shortcut. You need to have formal training and continuous practice. If you’re new to saxophone lessons, a few reminders and tips would help.
There are three levels of Singapore Saxophone lessons: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Having no former training, you will be placed in a beginner class. That’s where you will be taught the basics. The lessons will teach you the parts of the instrument as well as their uses. This will be of great help to you in understanding the instrument. You will also learn how to properly position your fingers when playing. Whatever stage of the learning you land on, you will study how to read notes so you can play any song with music sheet.
For beginners, the alto or tenor sax are more appropriate to learn. These two saxophones are the easiest to learn. When you get better at playing, you can always switch to the more advanced soprano saxophone. You will notice how the three are different as you progress through the lessons.
The things taught to you by your sax teacher should always be kept in mind. Number one on your list should be proper breathing. Controlling your breathing well will allow you to play longer and better. Correct body posture is still another necessity to playing well. Air circulation will not be as optimized if you do not have the right body posture. These beginner saxophone lessons will be taught early on, but sometimes, people tend to forget them.
Because you’re just a beginner, you might dream of becoming a world-class sax player. There is really nothing wrong with having an ambition. But try to stay realistic. To master the sax is never easy. If you aim to be a professional or world class player, then be prepared to practice for many years. If you know someone who plays, ask them. They know what it’s like to practice every detail of the song and enhancing their techniques to be better players.
Hopefully, this wouldn’t discourage you from starting a beginner saxophone lesson. It should, on the other hand, make you more challenged to learn. Mastering the sax is a truly great achievement that not many are able to do. If you can, take the opportunity to learn this instrument. There is really no age cap to learning them, but the sooner you undertake it, the easier it will be for you. Without a doubt, sax lessons are worth giving your time and effort to.
