Hal Leonard Piano Method?

I’m looking for a piano method. Is the Hal Leonard method any good? Does it inhibit its students in any major ways? Would you suggest it? I don’t know much about piano pedagogy, but I am impressed with Leonard’s prices and the fact that all the core books(lessons, techniques, and solos) and supplementary books have corresponding demonstration and accompaniment c.d.s. Again, would you suggest this method? Is it complete? Does it have any major problems?

I agree with the previous poster. Faber and Faber has worked wonderfully for my students. One of my student’s parents bought the Hal Leonard and I agreed to use it since that is what they wanted. However, I don’t like it as well as F&F. It seems to move a little more quickly than this particular student is able to. The pieces seem to get more complex at a faster rate than F&F, and I don’t think that is necessarily a good thing when the students are still trying to grasp basic concepts. And, the student doesn’t even use the CD anymore b/c she can’t keep up with the accompaniment tempos in the second book. The first book she used it quite a bit, however. Hope this helps.
