How do i use a violin bow on my les paul or telecaster like Jimmy Page?
i can’t find out how to get a violin bow to work on one of my guitars like jimmy page. i’ve tried using rosin but i can’t really hear it. i may just be putting not enough on.
A couple of things, you will need resin the bow pretty heavily to get it to “bite”. Second, keep in mind that bowing a guitar is not as easy as it looks. For starters, unlike a violin, the strings are not curved over the bridge which makes it just about impossible to bow anything individually other than the E strings. You’ll need to work on some partial chord phrasings to imitate the sound that Page was able to achieve, but with practice you should be able to get some sounds you like.
