Chopin Piano

why is Chopin piano concerto and etudes are so hard to master?

I play Chopin music seriously for about 15 years, the piano concerto one and two is so hard to play, with lots of difficult passages, etudes play for years, still play it measure by measure, ugh seeing all these Evgeny Kissin, Martha Argarich, some of the masters, like Josef Hoffman, don’t even know how the hell they play it with such ease….so give me an honest answer…..one day practice for 4 hours the next day for 2 hours , now the 3rd day my eyes are droopy, I painstakingly play the passages over and over, yes there is always improvement, but look it seems so slow and these chord trills, these tiny right hand small cluster notes fitting to the left hand part taking fucking long time, playing the same cluster for hundreds of times to grasp it…….am I normal or not?

Take note that Josef Hoffman, martha Argerich and Kissin are the exceptional pianists. They were gifted since young and practised many hours each day. It is normal to be stuck in Chopin’s pieces. Chopin is a gifted composer and he designed his pieces such that his etudes can be mastered by few in the world. Even Cziffira, a gifted and professional pianist, did not play the etudes very well. Even Artur Rubinstein was scared of the etudes. So you are not alone. There are only not many pianists who can master the concertos and etudes, which are full of trills, running notes, chromatic scales, and require much emotions to play. I feel that Chopin downloaded his melodies from heaven. His etudes are very difficult to play. So press on! I cannot even play any of his nocturnes well, let alone his etudes.

The short life and passionate music of romantic composer Frédéric Chopin provide the foundations for this 1945 drama, which proved influential in its gaudy, undeniably watchable formula of historical exaggeration and shrewdly simplified motives for its principals. In an Oscar-nominated performance, Cornel Wilde presents the Polish native as a passionate nationalist driven by his love of his nat…
