jazz play along drum tracks?
i want to find jazz songs that have the drum tracks removed from them so i can play along with them through my i pod for free.
2 things.
#1 – So So quality, but free…You can join a group on yahoo that has midi files of jazz tunes… if you put them in Band in Box you can take out the drums. There may even be a jazz drummer’s group that has tunes already done! Just search Yahoo groups!

#3 – Outstanding Quality…I don’t know about free, but on every Jamey Aerbersold play along CD, the piano and bass are on the left and the drums are on the right, so drummers can play right along, by adjusting the balance (or taking one earbud out) I’ve already imported a few of his CD’s into my itunes and then on my ipod and they work great! Find a genre or artist you like and go from there! The good thing about Aebersold stuff is you can learn necessary standards as well as styles, as well as necessary standards for a style. Only learning a style will take you part of the way… you’ve got to learn the standards… where all the hits are in the tunes, etc, you can do this with Aebersold because you can first listen to what the drummer does before removing the drummer from the track!
